Duck Blabber got the opportunity to have an Exclusive interview with one half of the team Renald Thiel. Last month Renald competed in a very big tournament “Pabcon Youth Championships". unfortunately he didn't make it in the top 3, but gained a lot of experience to continue improving.
Duck Blabber: How long have you been bowling?
Renald: I've been bowling since i was 6 years old.
Duck Blabber: Tell me a bit about the 4th International Tournament in St. Croix how'd it go?
Renald: The tournament in St Croix went very well, it was a high level tournament. Puerto Rico had 3 different teams and so did St Croix.
Duck Blabber: How was the experience representing Aruba internationally?
Renald: It was one more experience for me seeing that this is the 3rd tim I've competed in this tournament in St Croix I competed many times already representing Aruba Internationally.
Duck Blabber: How did you get ready for this tournament?
Renald: We get invited to this tournament every year and unfortunately our team does not get founded so the cost has to be covered on our own. In my case I am sponsored by Taco Bell so they help me with the expenses every year. I train bowling 3 times a week and gym 2 times a week that way i can always be in good condition for any tournaments that come my way.
Duck Blabber: Whats up next? What are your future plans & what are your planned upcoming tournaments?
Renald: Well Next I will continue training for a big tournament coming up in Costa Rica where I am one of the selected ones to represent Aruba. Also in October my sponsor will help me go to Orlando to train with the professionals. They help me with this two times a year. It is planned to play a tournament this year in Puerto Rico from 26th to 30th of December, Right now I am preparing & working really hard for nationals (Organised by Arbas) where they pick the team for 2 years to prepare for 2014/2015.
Duck Blabber: What would you say to the young bowling players out there wanting to be like you?
Renald:
I would like to tell them to remember that discipline is always in first place. If you want to succeed keep training. Sport is really good but you have to put interest and goals in front of you so you can one day represent your country.
